On Friday, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement they were investigating a possible missing persons for Melanie Rios Camacho of Firebaugh.
However, on Sunday, sheriff’s deputies discovered what they believe to be the remains of Camacho, who was less than a week away from her 20th birthday, according to Madera County Sheriff Tyson Pogue during a press conference Monday.
Pogue said two suspects were in custody — Jose Lopez Hernandez and Camacho’s ex-boyfriend Vincente Jasso, who are friends. Jasso and Camacho were together for about three months before they broke up three days before Thanksgiving.
