Trauma response tools shared with MCSOS staff

Renowned author and national speaker, Julie Kurtz, provided training and useful tools for Madera County Superintendent of Schools (MCSOS) staff to start the 2025 year.

Kurtz specializes in trauma-responsive, social-emotional, and resilience-building skills within the early childhood to 12th grade educational setting. Her presentation focused on brain development and ways in which to keep communication open when working with children, students, and families.

Staff was provided with a Seity Health refresher course in the afternoon. Seity Health is an application that helps individuals track and improve their well-being. The voluntary program has been expanded to include some MCSOS students.
