The Matilda Torres football team will host its first kickoff dinner on August 5.
The social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. at 19276 Farallon Road.
Tickets for the event is $20 for adults 21-over and limited to the first 130 people.
“It’s a family-type of event with a catered meal to go with backyard games,” event coordinator Angelina Sua said.
Dinner will be buffet-style and consist of carved roast beef, barbecue chickent quarters, boiled red potatoes, pilaf, green salad and rolls.
There will also be a dessert auction.
Sua said head coach Joseph Marquez wanted a dinner as something to get to know the football program.
“We want to get people to start to come out and support the program and want to know what Toros football is all about,” Sua said.
