There has been a lot of publicity lately about how landlords (or landladies) treat tenants. There was a proposition this year about rent control, and there are a number of laws about how landlords may manage the people or businesses that rent from them. Because it is not always a pleasant task for either tenants or landlords, many who have rentals use management companies to avoid issues.
I like to think those who own property and rent it to others are not always after just the almighty dollar, but also want to rent out their properties to fulfill a need.
Not all landlords are good to their tenants, but I know that tenants don’t always know what a landlord faces. Costs are often high, and property owners must cover costs. Repairs are sometimes difficult as well as costly.
