Tax bills are out

During public comment at the last Board of Supervisors meeting, by treasurer tax collector Tracy Kennedy along with her assistant Jackie Torres and tax enforcement officer Jeevan Basra, Kennedy gave a status update informing that the unsecured tax bills have been sent out for the year, and how those needing assistance can obtain help.

Pertaining to business assessments, aircraft, and possessory interest, the tax is assessed as of Jan 1 2023, and evaluated by the assessor’s office who places a value on the item or business to be taxed yearly.

Presenting an example of the packets sent out containing the unsecured tax bill and the property tax delinquent bill, Torres brought to the attention of the board an insert that will be accompanying the property tax delinquent bills informing recipients of the state funded CalHFA program.
