State Route 99 shut down for accident

The California Highway Patrol responded to an accident on State Route, near Avenue 21 1/2 that involved two big rigs and two other vehicles.

CHP received a call at 1:46 p.m. Monday afternoon about an accident with five vehicles. One of the big rigs landed on the railroad tracks. Two southbound lanes on State Route 99 were closed.

Cal Fire was called onto the scene and traffic was diverted at Avenue 18 1/2.

Eppler’s Towing was called in to remove the big rigs.

Minor injuries were reported in the accident. One of the other vehicles had to be towed away.

CHP opened Lanes 1 and 2 at 3 p.m. on State Route 99.
