The Madera County Sheriff’s Office honored Commander Bill Ward after he retired last week after almost 28 years in law enforcement.
During his tenure, Ward has served in a variety of capacities, including patrol, investigations, supervision, and administration. As Commander, he currently manages the Operations Division of the Sheriff’s Office which oversees patrol, investigations, and the Coroner’s division.
Additionally, he serves as the Terrorism Liaison Officer-Coordinator and manages the department’s Threat Assessment and Management program. He is also in the process of building MCSO’s Crime Analysis and Intelligence function, including a Real Time Information Center and Rapid DNA program.
