A California Highway Patrol Madera officer observed a silver Lexus E350, traveling at a high rate of speed, southbound Road 23, near Avenue 14 1/2.
As the officer made a U-turn to initiate a traffic stop Tuesday at about 12:30 p.m., the driver sped away and began to drive reckless, attempting to evade CHP.
The driver continued eastbound on Avenue 14 from Road 23 and continued at a high rate of speed.
