Madera Police Officer Lori Alva conducted a traffic stop in the area of S. Gateway Dr. and W. 6th Street Wednesday evening.

During the traffic stop, Officer Alva contacted Ghaise Joher. During the encounter, Officer Alva found Ghaise to be in illegal possession of the loaded firearm and a usable amount of narcotics. He was arrested and booked into the Madera County Jail for multiple firearms and narcotics charges.

“This is just another classic example of your MPD Patrol Officers ensuring a safe environment through proactivity and principled policing,” said the Madera Police Department in a statement.
