Joe Martinez Urbano, who was born on Oct. 18, 1932, in Nogales, Arizona, to Juan Urbano and Isabel (Martinez) Urbano, passed away on Sept. 3, 2026, in Madera, California, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, and love for his family.
Joe was enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country with honor. During his military service, he received several medals, including the Korean Service Medal, recognizing his dedication and sacrifice.
Following his military service, Joe built a successful career through skill, discipline, and an honest work ethic. He owned and operated his own automotive autobody shop for 30 years.
Joe was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, Maggie Urbano, and his children, Joseph Rick Urbano Jr., Vincent Tim Urbano, and Rosemary Urbano Leonard. He is also survived by his two siblings, Raymond Urbano and Dinnie Falcon. In addition, he leaves behind four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, from 8-10:30 a.m., at Jay Chapel in Madera, California.
A Recitation of the Rosary, followed by a Mass, will be held Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, at 11 a.m., at St. Joachim Catholic Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Madera, California, following the Mass.
