Obituary: Jason Cook, 1976-2022

Born March 14, 1976, Jason Lived in Madera all of his life and was a graduate of Madera High School. Most known for his butchering skills. First with his grandfather in the Ranch Butchering business. Jason found a true Love for the business at a very early age. Making a career of more than 20-plus years as Meat Manager for Save Mart Supermarkets. He was currently at the Herndon & Marks Store, after the closing of the Country Club store in Madera.

Jason was very involved in a local horse shoe club with regular meets on Wednesday nights. He loved all kinds of fishing. In his spare time, he was camping, fishing, jet skiing, boating and spending time with family and friends.

Jason is survived by his mother Debbie Cook Barber and step dad Gary Barber. Father David Cook and Step Mom Mary Cook. Sister Stacy Burkhalter, two nieces Chelsia Burkhalter, HayLee Cook, nephew Tyler Burkhalter, Step brother Nicholas Cook.

Jason died Dec. 2, 2022, in a vehicle accident.
