Lawrence Fernandez was born in 1947 in Madera, California, to Lillian and Frank Fernandez. He is now welcomed into heaven by his beloved parents, brothers, Butch, Thomas and Gary Fernandez and niece Claudia Fernandez. He leaves behind his wife Susan Fernandez, his Sister and Brother in law Barbara and Samuel Scheider, daughters Shannon Harvey (Husband Soren), Marissa Bower (Husband Eric) and Emily Clay (Husband Cody). Seven grandchildren Matthew Gallegos, Jacob Coronado (Wife Nikki), Makayla Soria, Chase Brazil, Kyle Brazil, Lillian Clay and Kallum Clay. Three great grandchildren Luke Gallegos, Brady Gallegos, and Brody Coronado, . As well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was a devoted husband, loving father, and a friend to everyone he met. His goofy personality, adventurous spirit, and warm heart brought joy and laughter to the lives of so many. He had a special way of making people feel welcome, and his friendly nature made it easy for him to create lasting friendships. Lawrence lived life on his own terms, never allowing fear or limitations to hold him back from pursuing the things he loved. He embraced every adventure and made the most of every moment.
Lawrence had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fishing, which brought him peace, joy, and countless memorable moments. Whether he was spending time by the water or enjoying the simple pleasures of life, he found happiness in every adventure. He was also a talented artist, expressing his creativity and imagination through his artwork. His love for art reflected the unique way he saw the world and allowed him to leave behind pieces of himself for others to cherish.
Lawrence was a proud Native American of Chukchansi heritage, and his heritage was a deeply cherished part of who he was. He carried the strength, pride, and traditions of his people in his heart and was passionate about preserving his Native American roots. He proudly passed that love and appreciation for his heritage down to his daughters, instilling in them the same strength, determination, and unwavering pride in their Native American identity. His legacy will continue through his family and the generations to come.
Lawrence was also a proud Vietnam Army veteran who served our country with honor and dedication. His military service was a significant part of his life, and he took great pride in having answered the call to serve. His courage, sacrifice, and commitment to our nation will always be remembered and honored.
May he rest peacefully, knowing his legacy lives on through his family, his heritage, his art, and the countless lives he touched.
