MCSO investigates threat at Minarets

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office investigated a reported threat involving a Minarets High School student.

Following the MCSO investigation October 5, deputies determined there was no credible threat to students or the campus.

Out of an abundance of caution, there was an increased Sheriff’s Office presence and additional patrols on and around the Minarets campus.

“We take all reports involving potential threats to our schools seriously,” said the MCSO in a statement. “We appreciate the students, families, and school staff who promptly report concerning information. School safety is a shared responsibility. If you see or hear something concerning, say something. Students are encouraged to immediately notify a trusted adult, school administrator, or law enforcement of any potential threat. We will continue working closely with Minarets High School and Chawanakee Unified School District to help keep our students, staff, and school community safe.”
