The Madera County Master Gardeners will showcase five gardens — four private gardens and their own Three Sisters Garden on April 30.
Two of the gardens are in Madera and two more are in the Madera Ranchos.
The Three Sisters Garden is a two-acre demonstration garden on the campus of Madera Community College. Most of the plants will be labeled for the tour and Master Garnders will be on hand to answer gardening questions. Note- and photo-taking are encouraged.
The Three Sisters Garden features an iris section with more than 100 different varieties, an extensive rose garden, perennials, vegetables, fruit and landscape trees.
There are theme sections, such as a children’s area with a maze, waterwise plantings, a moonlight garden, wildlife section, and a new kitchen garden. The Garden Shoppe, with lots of plants and garden-related goodies, will again be a feature at the Three Sisters Garden.
Proceeds support Master Gardener programs and the development and care of the demonstration garden. Tour hours are 9 a.m.-1 p.m., tickets are $25 in advance, $30 day of the event. For tickets, call 673-6060.
