Madera USDA office to remain open

WASHINGTON, D.C. — After urging the Trump administration to reverse its plan to close nine U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) offices across California, U.S. Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), a member of the United States Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, announced that eight of the nine offices, including one in Madera that was slated for termination, will no longer close their doors on Tuesday.

“Following my call to the Trump administration to reverse their plans to close USDA offices across California, I am pleased to announce that Secretary Rollins has informed me of their work with the General Services Administration (GSA) to ensure that many of these USDA offices will remain open. California is the nation’s largest agricultural state, and these USDA offices are vital for farmers and rural communities to access essential services they rely on,” said Senator Schiff. “I would like to thank Secretary Rollins for engaging with us to ensure that Californians have access to these crucial services. I will keep pushing the administration to ensure that critical USDA offices in California continue to operate without interruption.

Madera’s USDA office is at 425 N. Gateway Drive, Suite K.
