The Madera Rescue Mission, Madera County, the Community Action Partnership of Madera County and the City of Madera have partnered to offer tiny homes to provide housing for homeless families, along with services from the Mission.
The Madera Rescue Mission unveiled six pre-made tiny homes, with each unit being about 576 square feet, and features two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen and a common area during a ribbon cutting on Monday. Each home also includes a welcoming prayer at the entrance.
Now, the Madera Rescuse Mission plans to expand the Triage Center (where the tiny homes are located) into a larger housing complex that will include additional tiny homes, with the capacity to accommodate more than 100 people.
