The California State Sheriff’s Association formally recognized Madera County Undersheriff Darin McMechan as the recipient of the “John Sully” Memorial Award last week.

This prestigious honor, in its eighth year, honors the distinguished Second-in-Command who showcases exemplary leadership, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to the safety and well-being of the community they serve.

McMechan epitomizes each of these qualities, as demonstrated by his extensive career serving the citizens of Madera County.
