Madera baseball, softball get wins

The Madera Coyotes softball team picked up a mercy-rule victory over Justin Garza before next week’s Easter Break. Meanwhile, the baseball team got back on the winning track with a 6-1 victory over County/Metro Athletic Conference rivals Bullard.

The baseball team took advantage of four Bullard errors for the win Tuesday after a 3-2 loss to Fresno on Friday. Joel Arellano picked up the win, allowing four hits over six innings with six strikeouts.

The Coyote softball team used Justin Garza errors to their advantage to end Tuesday’s game in five innings with a 16-2 victory. Viviana Nombrano picked up the win with four strikeouts through the first three innings.
