Madera Babe Ruth falls in Southwest Regionals

The Arizona state Babe Ruth champions, Hamilton, showed why they are expected to be one of the best at the Pacific Southwest Regionals with a 14-6 victory over the Madera Babe Ruth 14-year-old All-Star team.

Madera jumped ahead of Hamilton with five runs to open the game in the top of the first inning to open the Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament on Monday.

However, Hamilton scored seven runs in the bottom of the second inning to take the lead.

Madera added another run in the third to cut the lead to one. Hamilton closed the game with seven unanswered runs for the 14-6 victory.

Christian Guerrero scored two runs to lead Madera. Eli Sablan scored a run and had two singles. Josh Cardiel singled and scored a run.

Trey Garcia and Brendan Gustafson each singled in the first and came around to score. Zach Sanchez drove in a run.

Madera played Tuesday morning against the loser of Hawaii and Heartwell Red.
