I remember a phrase in the King James Bible about “straining at gnats while swallowing camels.” I believe Jesus was talking about the Pharisees, the ruling religious class in His time. They were apparently judging people for minutia while overlooking (or even committing) major offenses that actually meant something.
If Jesus said that today, He might say something like “straining at pronouns while swallowing open borders.” Or “judging the innocent while protecting criminals.”
Or, just maybe, “pouring all your energy into condemning a President who is actively saving the world.”
Because that’s what is happening. A recent letter to the Tribune called out those who support Trump and listed his “failures,” one of which was failing to end the Russia-Ukraine war as he promised to do. Somehow the author of that letter didn’t notice that Trump has ended nine wars that most of us never even heard of, stripped the world’s leading terror-supporting nation of its ability to initiate global nuclear destruction (which would most definitely happen if Iran ever gets its way), freed Venezuela of its soul-eating dictatorship, and is actively dragging communist Cuba back into the land of the living.
Donald J. Trump wants to go to Heaven. He has said so. No one with a brain is claiming that he was ever a saint in the past (you don’t survive the streets of New York City wearing a halo), but now, with a handful of years remaining to him, he seems Heaven-bent on saving as much of the world and its people as he can. You don’t have to like him, but do stop lying about him.
He is not a dictator. He is not a king. If he were either of those things, the anti-ICE riots of the last two years would have ended with thousands of machine-gunned protestors rotting in the streets of Los Angeles and Minneapolis. The rogue judges who have repeatedly road-blocked him have nearly all been overruled by the Supreme Court, but a real dictator would have dissolved that regal body years ago. Trump hasn’t. He isn’t going to. He follows the law, maybe a bit overzealously at times, but again, the USSC is there to check him when he does.
I’m not a lawyer or legal professional, but I believe that intent is often a factor in deciding guilt, innocence, and punishment. Trump’s intent is clear, even when he doesn’t say it out loud—he wants the best for America and its people. Those who oppose him don’t seem to care about the people.
The Democrat party, once populated by patriots, has been soaked in Marxism until it is now openly hostile to true democracy. Democrats hate Trump for two reasons:
1) he is exposing their lies and true nature, and
2) he is keeping promises they themselves made but never did keep.
Call me ignorant, but I love this country. God bless Donald Trump, and God bless America on its 250th birthday!
