Letters: ‘Silence is golden’

Gavin Newsom has the right to remain silent, but he doesn’t know how.

Gavin stands at the crime scene, hands in his back pockets, and chatters. To the TV cameras, to devastated citizens — to anyone who will listen. Smiling. Laughing. Rocking side to side. Sometimes wiggling, like a nervous puppy.

“This ain’t my fault. The reservoirs are full. Why is Trump politicizing the fires? This is no time for divisive rhetoric. I’m gonna get to the bottom of this. How is it my fault? Nobody can control the winds. Everything you see around me, all those smoking neighborhoods… is disinformation.
