When Ignacio Negrete was in kindergarten, he realized that his birthday wasn’t on the calendar while everyone else was celebrating their birthdays .
He realized, then, that his birthday occurred every four years.
“That’s when you realize everyone had birthdays,” Negrete said. “Although everyone celebrated every year, I realized I didn’t have a calendar date. I did not see my birthday and realized it came around every few years, so it was special.”
