Hawks get state win

All it took was one swing of the bat and the Liberty Hawks softball team advanced to the semifinals of the Div. III CIF NorCal Championships after a 1-0 victory over Foothill in Palo Cedro.

The fifth-seeded Hawks traveled to San Mateo on Thursday to face top seed Hillsdale in the semifinals.

Macie Webster tossed a three-hit gem in Tuesday’s win over fourth-seeded Foothill. After the Hawks got their lone run in the fifth, Webster allowed just one base runner the rest of the game.
