Fuller School in Chowchilla held its annual Patriot Day Assembly.

Kindergarten, first and second grade students showed their patriotism and honored the memory of September 11 during the assembly Monday.

“The Patriot Day assembly at Fuller Elementary School is so much more than students memorizing and performing extremely significant historical speeches from our nation’s history,” said Doug Collins, Superintendent of Chowchilla Elementary School District. “It is a commitment by the Chowchilla Elementary School District Board of Education, our schools and our community to stand up and recognize that it is important to understand our nation’s history, to know it and to cherish it. We at CESD, and at Fuller Elementary School, are committed to honoring the veterans that have gone before us and have sacrificed in service or paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. This event also commemorates the cowardly terroristic attack on Sept. 11, 2001 and all of those living and fallen heroes who sacrifices for others that day in our history.”
