Former Madera Coyote three-sport All-Star athlete Alec Gamboa recently completed a baseball season that saw him on the doorsteps of playing for the World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers this year.

Gamboa played the entire season at the Dodgers’ Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City where he started as a reliever, but went back to a starting pitcher by the end of the year.

He felt he was close to getting that coveted call-up to the big league club, but it never came. However, in talks with Dodgers he was friends with, they told him there was talk about him joining the Dodgers over the summer.
