Leticia Gonzalez made Madera County history earlier this week when she was selected to become the next Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors.

By accepting the position, Gonzalez became the first Latina female to be named a Chairwoman for the Madera County Board of Supervisors.

“As Chairwoman, my goal is simple. It is to be transparent, efficient and focused on serving the best interests of all who call Madera County home,” Gonzalez said in her opening speech. “I am committed to running fair and productive meetings and making sure we are accountable for the people we serve. I want to set the standard for professionalism and ensure this Board leads by example by holding ourselves to the higher stands we can to inspire confidence and build trust in our community.”
