Two homicides that occurred hours from each other may be connected.
One homicide occurred near Gateway Drive and 4th street; the other near Noreen Way and Renee Way early Sunday morning.
According to the Madera Police Department statement, they believe that while the homicides happened at separate locations and at different times, they are investigating all possibilities, including whether or not the two events are related to each other. Madera PD also believes the victims and suspect appeared to have known each other, and in each case, were involved in altercations prior to the homicides.
Madera Police also says that their investigators are hard at work to uncover the facts behind each case and hold the suspects in these crimes responsible for their actions. They also say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Madera PD is also warning those interested in retaliation. “Our Special Investigations Unit is already out on the streets conducting crime suppressions operations. Further violence will be met with swift law enforcement response. Going to jail is a poor way to honor the memory of the victims,” the statement read.
