With a chance to make a statement in the County/Metro Athletic Conference, the Madera Coyotes girls volleyball team fell victim to the continuous attack from the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers.

The Coyotes were beaten down, 25-15, in the first set, but battled back in the second set before losing 25-23, and couldn’t find their footing in the third set, 25-15, Wednesday evening in Joe Flores Gym.

“We definitely played better than the last time we played them,” head coach Meghan Haas said. “They are a good team. They just keep coming after you. You can’t let up against them. They did a much better job of the little things. There were stuff on our side that can change the course of the match.”
