The Madera Coyotes fell into a 21-7 halftime hole and fell into a 21-point hole in the second half, but made the game interesting in the fourth quarter before succumbing to the Sanger Apaches, 35-21, on Homecoming night.
The Coyotes took all four drives in the first half into Sanger territory, but only scored on one. The toughest pill to swallow was a first-and-goal at the 10 late in the second quarter in which the Coyotes turned the ball over on downs.
However, two fourth quarter touchdowns made the game interesting and the Coyotes had a chance to cut the lead down to seven, but a bad snap ended chances at a comeback.
