Council honors retiring employee

Members of the City Council recognized the service of one of its longest lasting employees as he retires. Proclamations were given Tuesday evening as well to recognize the month of February as National Black History Month and also National Pesticide Safety Education Month.

During the regular meeting led by Mayor Pro Tem Jose Rodriguez, councilmembers took time to honor and recognize the dedicated service to the City of Madera given by Juan Montemayor.

Montemayor celebrates 21 years of service in his distinguished career as one of the city’s maintenance workers who is retiring this year. He has dedicated his time to performing essential repairs and critical tasks that keep our city operating without disruption. Montemayor’s hard work and contributions to the integral success have helped ensure the well being and upkeep of the city’s sewer and sanitation system.
