CHP Madera responded to remove clothing from the traffic lanes on northbound SR-99, north of Avenue 17 on Thursday afternoon.

A large quantity of clothing was dropped by an unknown vehicle and scattered approximately 1,000 feet. CHP officers responded promptly, and between four officers, including a sergeant, cleared the traffic lanes.

“If you happen to see a CHP patrol vehicle ahead of you and driving in a serpentine manner with its emergency lights on, this means there is a potential traffic hazard ahead,” said the CHP in a statement. “Never attempt to pass patrol vehicle(s) with their emergency lights on and maintain a minimum following distance of 300 feet.”
