After last year’s symposium fell victim to the world-wide pandemic, Dr. Ranjit Singh Rajpal and the Fresno- Madera Medical Society returned to the Madera County Office of Education Conference Center to bring Cardiovascular Update 2021.
The 41st annual Central Valley Cardiology Symposium brought an impressive list of faculty to Madera. Medical professionals, doctors, nurses and med-students enjoyed earning accredited continuing education on the latest developments in the world of cardiology.
The purpose of the annual symposium is designed for cardiovascular specialist, internists and family physicians concerned with the latest advances in cardiovascular medicine. New information on mechanisms and management were highlighted by renowned authorities in the field, according to symposium literature.
Kevin Boran, MD, moderated the morning session followed by Alfred Valles, MD, assuming the duties after lunch. The daylong event provided the attendees with exhibits, discussions and interaction with their colleagues.
Dipanjan Banerjee, MS FACC, of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, presented new emerging breakthrough therapies and diagnosis and management of cardiomyopathy.
Matthew J. Budoff, MD FACC FAHA, of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA Medical Center, spoke of newer therapies and lipid management along with the universal definition of myocardial infarction.
George K. Lui, MD FACC FASE, of Stanford University School of Medicine, presented a discussion of the challenges in the management of adult congenital heart disease to include pregnancy in patients.
Ranadas G. Pai, MD FACP FASE FRCP FACC, of U.C. Riverside School of Medicine St. Bernardine Medical Center, spoke on contemporary clinical application of echo-strain imaging and its role in cardio-oncology and other procedures.
