Earlier this month, Madera Police Department Officers responded to a local hotel regarding shots being fired.
During the investigation, it was discovered that two males were in a dispute that escalated to a firearm being used. The shooter, 29-year-old Cosme Cervantes, fled the scene after the shooting.
Due to Cosme’s violent criminal past, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) took over the case. SIU tracked Cosme to a location in Madera, and took him into custody after he attempted to flee from Detectives.
