It has been more than 20 years since Leon Leyson first began to tell me his heartbreaking story.
I met him through a teaching colleague, who lived near him in Fullerton, and informed me that Leyson was one of the Jews who was saved from the Nazi death camps by Oskar Schindler.
At the time, I was hosting a television program on KMPH in Fresno, in which I told history stories. I called my program, “Twist in Time.”
