Matilda Torres High School senior, Omar Alvarez, was named the 30th annual Ken Taylor Boy of the Year in a ceremony dinner held on Tuesday at the Madera United Methodist Church.

In his speech, Alvarez spoke about his journey and some of his many interests.

“I think school really taught me to try anything and everything because you don’t really know what you will enjoy,” he said.
