Madera Police officers responded to the Madera Airport after a small plane had a mechanical issue while attempting to land.
The single-occupant pilot was fortunately uninjured when the plane ran off the runway and came to rest nose-down in the dirt Friday afternoon at about 1 p.m.
Officers on scene assisted in ensuring the pilot’s safety and that the appropriate FAA protocol was followed.
