News Editor / Sports Editor
Tyler Takeda began working at The Madera Tribune in 1997. He worked in sports and then left after five years. Five years later, he returned, and has been at the desk ever since. He worked his way from a sports reporter to a Sports Editor and then became the Editor in 2025. Although he is a graduate of Sanger High School in 1991 and from Fresno State in 1996, he considers himself an adopted Maderan. His enjoyment is watching high school sports to see the growth of the athletes. His basic philosophy is to give the high school kids a great experience, whether it’s about writing about them or by announcing games. He is a public address announcer for six different teams and helps out many more teams. He also volunteers at the high school sober graduation ceremonies. He has been a dedicated staff member and now a leader for many years and doesn’t expect to slow down any time soon.
