When then Courtney (Taubert) Materazzi was playing volleyball for Madera in early 2000, people could tell she was the best player on the court.
Even when playing against some of the top teams in the Tri-River Athletic Conference, Taubert was one of the best players on the court.
“It was so hard in that league,” she said. “I played club with a lot of those girls. Those girls were going to big Div. I colleges. You knew it was going to be hard and a sport that was taken seriously by the Clovis schools.”
