The elections of yesteryear

The election season is over, and I am thankful I don’t have to see any more of those awful political ads that pit one candidate against another. The campaign ads of today bring out the faults of the opposing candidate rather than talking about the attributes of the advertising candidate.

We used to call that “mudslinging.” That is a very good name for it. I really hate those kinds of ads. I used to say that I would vote for any candidate that DOESN’T sling mud, but those candidates don’t seem to exist anymore.

Still, I like to see candidates who can convince me in a positive way that their ideas are good, rather than to try elevating themselves by condemning someone else.
