Tax collector announces update

Madera County Treasurer-Tax Collector Tracy Kennedy announced that the second installment of property taxes for the current fiscal year 2024-2025 has been successfully collected, reconciled, and posted.

More than $125 million was collected for the second installment, contributing to a total collection of more than $257 million for both the December and April property tax periods. This achievement brings the overall property tax collection for the year to 94 percent, with approximately 5,000 parcels, or about 6 percent of the total, remaining delinquent.

“We are grateful to report that all property tax payments were fully reconciled and posted by Monday, April 14,” Kennedy said. “These collected funds play a critical role in supporting the public safety services, local school districts, special districts, and city operations that help sustain and improve our community.
