Supes receive updates, support Yosemite transit

During their regularly scheduled meeting, held Tuesday morning, the Madera County Board of Supervisors received two updates, and gave their support to the Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System in their request for Community project funding.

Following the approval of the consent calendar, which included the decision to enter into an agreement with the Fresno County Fire Protection District for automatic and mutual aid, County Supervisors listened to presentations given by Chair of the Madera County Arts Authority, Julia O’Kane, as well as from the Assistant County Administrative Officer Joel Bugay.

Presenting a video made by students at Matilda Torres High School summarizing the scope of change coming to Madera, O’Kane described the authority’s plan to revitalize the downtown area and enhance arts in the community.
