Supervisors, students to celebrate 125th at graveyard

The culmination of Madera County’s quasquicentennial (125th anniversary) celebration is going to take place in a graveyard.

At 2 p.m. Tuesday, Madera County’s Board of Supervisors will meet in Arbor Vitae Cemetery at the grave of Henry Clay Daulton to pay tribute to the creation of the county and to the person who was most influential making that event happen.

The supervisors will be joined by Daulton descendants and students from Madera South High School.

The students will present a program of remembrance to Madera County and Henry Clay Daulton. It will consist of an oral and floral tribute by Jeff Moosios’s Historical Research class and a choral tribute by Roger Harabedian’s choir.

The ceremony is being hosted by the Madera Cemetery District.

The public is invited.
