Stay at home tests for COVID-19 available

Madera County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) has received a limited supply of COVID-19 antigen rapid self-test kits for distribution. The purpose of the self-tests are to provide access to at-home testing for at-risk populations. The kits are easy to use and provide results in as soon as 15 minutes.

Due to the limited supply, MCDPH is prioritizing distribution of the self-tests to businesses with historically higher-risk indoor environments for transmission and lower-wage employees who may have limited access to our static testing locations. Eligible sectors at this time include:

• Grocery stores

• Restaurants (including fast food)

• Warehouses/Factories

• Gas stations

• Gyms and fitness centers

In addition to the sectors above, MCDPH will be distributing self-tests through willing community-based organizations and places of worship to increase testing access to vulnerable and harder-to-reach populations.

If you are a representative of one of the eligible sectors and are interested in receiving a supply of test kits for your business, please email mhoac@maderacounty.com with the following information: Name of Organization/Business, type of business, name of contact (only one contact per person), contact number and number of employees that work onsite.
