Pre-register for recall election

Madera County Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters, Rebecca martinez, announced that persons who wish to vote in the Sept. 14 California Gubernatorial Recall Election must register to vote by Aug. 30.

In order to be eligible to register to vote at the September 14th Recall Election, one must be a United States citizen, live in Madera County and be 18 years old on or before Election Day. Additionally, in November 2020, Proposition 17 was approved by voters and the law was changed to allow individuals who are currently on parole for the conviction of a felony to register and vote.

Registered voters who have moved, changed their name, or wish to change their political party must re-register by August 30th.

Voter registration cards are available at the County Clerk’s office (call to request a card by mail or come in), local Post Offices, local Libraries, or register to vote online at www.votemadera.com or www.registertovote.ca.gov.
