Merced Communications Center received a call regarding a vehicle versus a pedestrian, on Road 28, near Ellis Street.
CHP Madera officers responded to the scene Tuesday evening at about 5:45 p.m., and located the pedestrian lying in the roadway with major injuries. The involved vehicle fled the scene immediately following the crash and was not located.
The 67-year-old Hispanic male from Madera was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center — Fresno.
