Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle

Madera Police Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of West Cleveland Ave. regarding a traffic collision of a male pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle.

Officers arrived on the scene Monday morning at about 6:30, and located the driver along with an unidentified Hispanic male lying on the ground. Officers performed life-saving measures before the male was rushed to Valley Children’s Hospital where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The identity of the deceased is unknown at this time and the driver was a minor. Madera PD has confirmed that alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor in this collision.
