Opinion: The presidential primary of 2084

Good morning, citizens. Lark Jackson here for WEYE-TV in Bellefontaine, Ohio, for the third primary election in anticipation of the November 2084 presidential election. As you know from previous news broadcasts, the location for voting has been moved from Columbus. When Lake Erie overflowed and flooded the State, election officials quickly responded by setting up a voting center here on Campbell Hill within the Bellefontaine micropolitan area in Logan County.

With me today is Bellefontaine’s mayor, Delaware Pettijohn. Mayor Pettijohn, first of all, how is your city responding to the climate crisis?

PETTIJOHN: Honestly, Lark, we’re doing quite well. As you probably know, Campbell Hill is about 1,500 feet above traditional sea level, which means that we’re now some 500 feet above the current level of water. And it’s a beautiful day for the election.
