Serving the heart of California since 1892

Opinion: Something to look forward to…

Our sports editor gave me a trip to Disneyland for Xmas. I wrote about it last week. Since Xmas, I have looked forward to the trip. It wore me out but it was the most fun I have had in years. That is how I manage to get through life, with events to look forward to.

On Saturday the Madera County Cattlewomen’s “Cowbelles,” are hosting its annual scholarship fundraising luncheon. Catered by Geoff Tipton and Cowboy Catering, the menu consists of roasted beef sandwiches. Home-cooked salads and desserts created by the members complement the beef. It is an event that people look forward to every year. I am one of those people.

Serving hours are 11 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. in the Woman’s World Building at the Madera District Fairgrounds, 1850 West Cleveland Avenue, Madera. Tickets are still available by calling Amanda Johnson, at (209) 756-3056.

Hope to see you there.
