Madera Unified with Pacific Farm Management Inc. and Cal Pacific Supply handed out 500 winter sweaters to students at Nishimoto Elementary School
PFM and Cal-Pacific President Ahmed “Mike“ Alamari grew up in Madera and is an alum of Madera Unified schools, said he wanted to continue giving back to his community after donating 500 jackets last year to MUSD students.
Alamari’s Cal-Pacific Supply recently moved into its new building on the corner of Almond and Granada avenues.
According to district officials, any remaining sweaters will be given to Nishimoto Elementary students throughout the school year who exemplify the character traits of respect, responsibility, and gratitude.
At Nishimoto, they strive for high levels of academic achievement but also aim to teach their students the importance of strong character.
“Receiving a donation like this greatly benefits the families we serve. The percentage of students living below the poverty level in our district is higher than the overall percentage for California,” said Elia Medina, Director of MUSD Community Services & Parent Resource Centers. “Therefore, donations to our community go beyond a simple donation — they make a true difference in our families.”
