MUSD implements Phone-free Policy

As part of Madera Unified School District’s ongoing commitment to enhancing student engagement and creating a focused learning environment, all MUSD middle schools and one alternative education school will implement a new phone-free policy, which started Tuesday.

Under this initiative, students will be required to place their phones inside Yondr pouches, where they will remain securely until the end of the school day. In an emergency, students can access their phones to contact their parents or guardians.

This policy aligns with California Assembly Bill 3216, also known as the Phone-Free School Act, which Governor Gavin Newsom signed.
